BIKERS, BEER & GUERILLA MARKETING

Just to continue our little biker post from a while back, here's a hilarious campaign from Carlsberg Beer in Germany that's been making the rounds for a couple of months. I love the fact that the women are all like "come on!"

Please press play and watch. Oh please, oh please, oh please.

Lalala....
Enjoy your day!

BIG SCARY - NOT SO SCARY

Last weekend was the 2nd annual Changing Lanes Festival, run by  Sydney's FBI Radio. It was a celebration of home grown talent including none other than one of ma favs, Big Scary. Kind of fell in love with their Four Season EP last year which manages to make garagey rock 'n' roll and poignant ramblings seem cohesive. Anyway, just a lot of loving for this Melbourne duo. Here's the clip for their new track, Gladiator from their debut album, Vacation. Excitement!

I mean he's in a freaking gladiator suit! And they have best friend necklaces! What's not to love?

EF

Have you seen any of these videos yet? They've been darting all over the blogosphere for a little bit.... well they're a little phenomenal menomena - even if the Sydney one is a little too 'coastal' for me. My sister went overseas with EF years ago, and let me just say, their promo's did not look like this!

But seriously, it's like candy for typography enthusiasts like myself.

Sydney, Vancouver and LA have just been released but a few equally as inspiring ones were released a little earlier, including quite a cute Parisian one. Here you go!

JACK LADDER & THE DREAMLANDERS

Just came across this video from Sydney's Jack Ladder. Giving out such New Order vibes or maybe The Church. I dunno. Just really poignant, I think.

Not a bad clip either. Directed by Peter Lenaerts who's rather phenomenal in his own right.

Kisses and cuddles....

MEN OF MADNESS

So, not sure if you've heard yet - but season five of Mad Men has just gone into production. Very exciting. And to celebrate, South African graphics firm, Radio, has just released these fantastic posters to commemorate the season. Aren't they just delightful?

They feature all of our favourites - Canadian Club, Lucky Strikes and martini's - of course. Enjoy!

CHECK IT

A new addition to my little Paddington collection. Hand painted calico with machine embroidery overlay. Quite enjoy it really. A bit 80s - but who says that's a bad thing!

Oh and a some music for this beautiful spring day in Sydney

BADASS

So I've been designing this light and it's kinda badass. It's built using radiator pipes and other badass stuff like that. I've been a little inspired by anything mechanical of late - specifically the lovely lady you see below from Deus customs in Chippendale (seriously check them out - crazy cool).

I'm not going to lie I've had the desire to run off and join a Biker gang ever since downing three straight seasons of Sons of Anarchy. Hello Jax Teller.

Anyway, go get a little bit badass. Some images of my lovely lamp will be brought to you soon-ish. Enjoy!

Images via Deus & FX, respectively.

Oh and here's your soundtrack to badassdom.

HANNAH - A TYPEFACE

So I was just scrolling through my Reader this morning and happen to come across a post from Total Inspiration on my typeface.... ha! Kidding, but seriously, it's the YouWorkForThem Hannah by Travis Sterns typeface. It has three element that all work together to create one. See....

Oh and p.s. Travis Sterns hasn't got a bad portfolio up either.

CONFIDENT LIAR

Just a quick bit of loving for Nicole Cooper from Confident Liar. She is a wonderful friend of mine and just happened to take that lovely shot you see above.

Here are a couple of my favourite moments:

FROM SKETCHBOOK TO TEXTILE

Yet again an assessment piece. This textile is based on the architecture of Paddington Uniting Church in Sydney. It's very triangular and that was where this design stemmed from. It started off with a felt-tip and a set square on the train and has finally made it onto a textile. Navy silk screen printing on a heavy-duty calico. Fun!

So if you want some, let me know - it's about a zillion dollars per metre...

SNOWMAKER

I've never even attempted a zine before, but I guess that's what university does to you.
This zine centred on mountain culture - think apres ski, fashion, food - all the rest. I used a bunch of family photos and actually got so excited about it! I wanted to capture that really textured, romantic, sixties aesthetic. How'd I do?
